Our client is a leading manufacturer of comprehensive Control & Automation solutions, working closely with a wide network of OEMs, Panel Builders, and Distributors. As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for covering the Midlands region and driving sales growth through effective customer interactions, product knowledge, and sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
- Take ownership of customer interactions to build strong relationships and drive sales growth.
Product Knowledge:
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all product lines sold by the business to effectively communicate their value to customers.
Sales Strategy:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of sales pipeline, customer interactions, and sales performance.
CRM Maintenance:
- Ensure CRM records are up-to-date and accurate for discounts, contacts, and carriage for all customers.
Cold Calling:
- Comfortably make cold calls to new and existing customers to arrange initial meetings and drive sales growth.
Promotion:
- Actively promote product benefits and value statements through LinkedIn to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
Account Management:
- Take ownership of assigned accounts, monitor quotes, orders, and delivery issues, and visit customers regularly to stay informed about their business.
Qualifications:
Education:
- HNC/HND or higher in electrical or control engineering (not essential).
Pressure Management:
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.
Personality:
- Friendly, approachable, and enjoys speaking to people on the phone.
Time Management:
- Excellent time management skills and ability to regulate time under stressful conditions.
IT Skills:
- Proficiency in IT, especially with Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Communication:
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and management.
