Job Summary:
Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to champion health and safety initiatives in the workplace. The successful candidate will ensure the implementation of a corporate health and safety strategy at site level, ensuring legal compliance and maintaining company standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead health and safety legislative and regulatory matters, liaising with necessary organisations.
* Develop, review, and update the H&S Management System and health, safety, and security procedures.
* Conduct workplace risk assessments, contribute to root cause analysis for accidents and incidents, and undertake incident investigation to learn lessons and implement improvements.
* Lead the internal Audit Team, conducting management system audits as required under ISO 9001/14001 and supporting the preparation and execution of external audits.
* Resolve site issues, assist in implementing new methods, techniques, and practices arising from internal and external monitoring activities.
* Prepare regular reports on safety performance and departmental KPIs, monitor performance against targets, and identify, recommend, and implement action plans as necessary.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a similar Health and Safety Manager/Specialist role, ideally from a chemical manufacturing background.
* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is essential for this position. Bachelor's Degree (in a relevant discipline) preferred. Thorough knowledge of H&S laws, regulations, practice, and standards. Experience of ISO 9001/14001 and internal auditing.
