About the Role

The Natural History Museum is seeking a highly motivated and organized Warehouse Operative to join our retail back of house team. As a key member of our warehouse operation, you will play a crucial role in supporting our retail commercial outlets, including e-commerce, on-site shops, and pop-up shops.

Responsibilities will include processing web customer orders, stock deliveries, and shop picks in a timely fashion to maximize profit and availability to visitors. You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Assistant Warehouse Managers, and warehouse colleagues to maintain a well-organized and well-maintained warehouse operation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with all aspects of warehouse stock control, including receiving, storing, and dispatching stock.
  • Working within the four core warehouse teams: Goods In, Stock Management, Goods Out, and Web Orders.
  • Communicating effectively with customers, suppliers, and NHM stakeholders via phone and email.
  • Complying with the Museum's Health and Safety and Fire Safety policies and procedures.

About You

We are looking for a team player who is literate and numerate, with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, and Excel). A forklift license is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

You will be someone who can put people at the heart of everything you do, building relationships with your team and acting quickly to help our customers. This is a hands-on job for people who enjoy tackling big challenges as part of a team working in a busy commercial warehouse environment.
