About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mill Maintenance Specialist to join our engineering team at our Ashbourne feed mill. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the full maintenance requirements of the mill, ensuring production downtime is minimized at all times.
Job Description
The Mill Maintenance Specialist will:
- Ensure a comprehensive maintenance plan is in place and adhered to, reducing production downtime to a minimum;
- Provide support to production teams on the PPM system;
- Develop and maintain a breakdown call-out plan to minimize production downtime;
- Regularly report on maintenance status and engineering performance as KPIs;
- Complete engineering requests in priority order;
- Maintain all pressure systems and lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with legal and insurance requirements;
- Assist in purchasing and stock control of site maintenance requirements within budget targets;
- Obtain quotations for plant improvements and capital plans;
- Maintain the current permit-to-work system;
- Ensure that all work carried out by maintenance teams and contractors complies with the company's health and safety policy;
- Maintain the engineering workshop and stores to a satisfactory condition, adhering to the company's clean-as-you-go policy;
- Monitor and control any negative environmental impact arising from processes within their area of responsibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Educational qualifications relevant to electrical or mechanical engineering;
- 17th edition electrical qualification;
- Experience working on PLCs, inverters, and PPM systems;
- Mechanical experience;
- Experience working in high-speed production facilities;
- IOSH qualification (desirable).
