Job Summary

To assist the Asset Manager in developing a strategic approach for housing stock repairs and maintenance, ensuring legislative requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing, administering, and implementing the Council's Capital and Revenue Planned Maintenance Programme, including response repairs.

Act as the department's representative, protecting customers' interests and ensuring good quality work through liaison with other departments, sections, consultants, and contractors.

Protect the Council's budgets by actively controlling expenditure and ensuring value for money in repairs ordered.

Requirements

Sound building technology knowledge and experience

House condition survey experience

Computer literacy, use of databases and spreadsheets

SVQ3, HNC, or recognised apprenticeship in building or surveying discipline

Ability to manage complex situations and find appropriate solutions

Willingness to take on additional tasks

Full driving licence and use of car for work purposes

Specification production and report writing skills

Ability to monitor and negotiate with contractors and consultants

Ability to prioritise own workload

Ability to work on own initiative

Good knowledge of relevant legislation

Ability to liaise with internal and external agencies

Good communication skills, verbal and written

Flexible attitude to team working

Approachable and flexible

Able to attend meetings out of office hours when required

Good standard of general health and fitness required

Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
