Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the manufacturing system within allocated manufacturing cells in a manual assembly production facility, handling products with a mix of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly.
  2. Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance safe and lean assembly and test processes for existing and new products.
  3. Document, implement, and own Lean manufacturing processes for the manufacturing cell, ensuring continuous improvement.
  4. Accountable for defining, setting up, and optimizing processes within allocated manufacturing cells.
  5. Implement continuous improvement activities and projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  6. Conduct risk assessments for allocated manufacturing cells, including authoring safe systems of work.
  7. Specify and purchase appropriate tooling and equipment for allocated manufacturing cells.
  8. Ensure configuration control of operational documentation in compliance with current regulations (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001).
  9. Resolve or support non-conformities impacting the manufacturing process.
  10. Eliminate routing and material variances within allocated manufacturing cells.
  11. React to production feedback and manufacturing lessons learned to influence design revision or correction through the engineering change process.
  12. Author process documentation, write procedures, and create work instructions.
  13. Optimize production processes and provide production support.
  14. Apply problem-solving skills and root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment.
  15. Proficient in MS Office and similar applications used in an office environment.
  16. Understand engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
Desirable Experience & Skills
  1. Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree or engineering qualification.
  2. Experience in implementing Lean manufacturing principles.
  3. Technical knowledge including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics.
  4. Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.
  5. MRP/ERP system use - SAP.
  6. Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements to health and safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  7. Project management experience, including risk, schedule, and cost.
