Project Manufacturing Engineer

Join our team at Pertemps Bristol Industrial as a Project Manufacturing Engineer and take on a challenging role that requires expertise in manufacturing engineering and project management. As a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing improvement projects and activities, ensuring the successful delivery of manufacturing engineering deliverables, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering and project management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing risk, schedule, and resourcing for improvement projects and activities
  • Creating production work instructions, DFM, make/buy, capex, and PFMEA
  • Completing risk assessments with key stakeholders to ensure a safe and effective work environment
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, including knowledge of CI methodologies and operating systems, 5S, standard work, VSM, kaizen, change management, TPM, SPC, and Gauge R&R
  • Using problem-solving skills to perform root cause analysis and investigations (8D)
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A manufacturing engineering degree or minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Confidence with product manufacturing processes and working with manufacturing cells, including sub-assembly, final assembly, final testing, and dispatch
  • Experience in participating in continuous improvement projects, including principles such as TPM, SMED, 5S, 8D problem-solving, kaizen, VSM, and change management
  • Experience in creating and maintaining manufacturing process documentation
  • NPI, PCP gate methodology, and MRL, including PFMEA, make/buy, DFM, build notes
  • Experience in leading NPI initial build activities and training
  • Design for manufacture experience
