Design and Technical Services Coordinator

At Dorchester Collection, we're looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Design and Technical Services Coordinator. As a key member of our design team, you'll play a crucial role in providing architectural and design support for major hotel development and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal and external design teams to comprehend design intent and client requirements.
  • Review and advise on application of DC property standards, creating and modifying new standards as needed to support upcoming projects.
  • Interpret and interrogate drawings and technical specifications, and project documentation, and ensure designs adhere to brand guidelines, construction and Furniture Design Standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and coordinate with our hotels and corporate team in preparation and review of project milestones and annual and 10 year capital planning.
  • Prepare project reviews, research and advise on suitable development partners, and upkeep a list of relevant consultants and partners for upcoming projects.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior/Product Design, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in reading and working with architectural drawings, and have good computer application skills including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Project software, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language, while another language is welcome.
