Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Reporting Specialist to join our team at JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and regulations across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit reports to comply with environmental legislation, including Packaging & Waste Reporting and Plastic Packaging Tax.
  • Validate and reconcile sustainability data from multiple sources.
  • Monitor and stay up-to-date with sustainability-related legislation and guidance from external agencies.
  • Continuously improve environmental reporting processes and procedures.
  • Manage the purchasing process for Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs) to ensure compliance with recycling obligations.

Customer-Focused Sustainability Reporting

  • Coordinate the preparation of sustainability reports for customers, including packaging data and carbon footprint analysis.

External Agency and Scheme Management

  • Liaise with and manage relationships with external agencies, including scheme operators like Clarity Environmental.

Internal Communication and Compliance Updates

  • Report on compliance status and share internal results with the compliance steering committee.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data collection, manipulation, and visualization tools (Excel, PowerBI).
  • Ability to interpret sustainability-related legislation.
  • Previous experience in sustainability and/or data analysis and reporting.
  • Good communication skills, ability to establish and maintain relationships, and promote collaboration.
  • Presentation skills.
  • System savvy; experience with SAP R3P/BW is beneficial.
