Psychological Therapist for Acute Care Services

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Psychological Therapist to join our Acute Care Services team. This role is pivotal in enhancing the psychological well-being of individuals within our care.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Contributing a psychological perspective to the leadership and operation of Adult Urgent and Inpatient Care services.
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychological services within inpatient settings, integral to our comprehensive mental health and well-being services.
- Providing clinical leadership and mentorship to junior staff, trainees, and volunteers associated with the psychology service.
- Managing a specialized caseload, offering expert advice and consultancy to both patients and healthcare professionals.
- Working autonomously while adhering to professional guidelines and ensuring the governance of psychological practices.
Key Responsibilities
The primary aim of this position is to enhance the psychological health and well-being of individuals in our care. Responsibilities include:
- Developing a psychologically informed environment through various therapeutic models, focusing on trauma, attachment issues, and social inequalities.
- Delivering psychological assessments, formulating treatment plans, and implementing specialized interventions for individuals and groups.
- Providing reflective practice, training, and clinical supervision to multidisciplinary teams.
- Engaging in continuous professional development and supporting the growth of special interests among staff.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or an equivalent qualification, with eligibility for Chartered status.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or an appropriate recognized professional body.
- Experience in adult mental health services, particularly with individuals facing severe and complex mental health challenges.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
