The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced eDiscovery Manager to join our Digital Legal Delivery team in Belfast. As a subject matter expert in eDiscovery workflows and technology, you will be responsible for managing complex data types, including chat data and audio, and ensuring high-quality client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead case management, identifying client needs, recommending technical solutions, and delivering effective solutions throughout the life of a matter.
  • Work with clients to ensure excellent service, participating in case initiation meetings, and liaising with external IT teams.
  • Set accurate budgets and ensure work is completed within budget and to agreed standards and deadlines.
  • Coordinate team resources, collaborate with other Managers and colleagues, and ensure correct solutions and processes are implemented.
  • Manage Quality Control of technical eDiscovery services, designing and implementing quality control procedures, and performing root cause analysis of errors or issues.
Team Management
  • Work with Senior Manager and other eDiscovery Managers to build a cohesive, high-performing team, including recruitment, professional development, and supervision of direct and indirect reports.
  • Lead on continuous improvement of relevant business processes and protocols, including case-specific process manuals.
Training and Development
  • Proactively seek feedback from team members on training needs and work with Senior Manager and Head of eDiscovery to facilitate ongoing development and training of the eDiscovery team.
  • Prepare training materials and provide eDiscovery training to case teams.
Business Development
  • Promote and sell the eDiscovery team offering to internal clients, delivering high-quality work and building internal relationships.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' eDiscovery experience in a law firm or service provider.
  • Deep understanding of eDiscovery technology, including Relativity/RelOne and Nuix.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, with experience working within a similar team at the required level.
  • Expertise in supporting document reviews and case work.
  • A curious mind and solutions-oriented approach to providing client service.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to dealing with multiple projects to strict deadlines.
eDiscovery Tools and Certifications
  • Relativity (Server/RelOne)
  • Nuix (*preferred)
  • Cellebrite UFED (*essential)
  • Reveal AI
  • Message Crawler
  • Preferred Certifications include: Nuix eDiscovery Specialist, CCO, CCPA EnCase EnCE, CFCE, and ACE; RCA (Relativity Certified Administrator), Relativity Processing Specialist, Relativity Analytics Specialist
Project Management Experience
  • Experience supervising more junior staff, ideally including identifying and responding to training needs.
  • Understanding of disclosure obligations in different jurisdictions (specifically UK and US litigation, UK and US regulators)
  • Experience working with legal review teams (LPOs or inhouse legal teams)
  • Advanced in MS Windows, MS Office Applications (specifically Excel)
  • Understanding of the approach required to working in a global team, including navigating different communication styles, working styles, and time zone challenges.
