We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Mental Health Lead

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at Priory Hospital Newbury, a leading mental health hospital rated as outstanding by CQC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading weekly ward rounds, running CPAs, assessing new referrals, attending managers' hearings and tribunals, providing supervision to the Specialty Doctor, and medical leadership to the Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a 12-bed male Recovery & Rehab ward
  • Cross-cover with other consultants looking after an 18-bed acute mixed ward
  • Work in close liaison with referring agencies
  • Teach and supervise medical and clinical staff

The role includes on-call duties around 1:6 as part of the job. Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or within three months of registration and also hold approved clinician status.
