Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to join our Adults Directorate as a Direct Payment Specialist.

Your primary responsibility will be to support adults with care and support needs in making informed decisions about their direct payments.

To achieve this, you will undertake regular reviews to ensure that direct payment funds are being used appropriately and in line with relevant legislation.

In addition, you will respond to urgent enquiries and facilitate the direct payment process for new recipients.

About the Position

You will work closely with various stakeholders, including service users, carers, families, and internal/external organisations to promote independence, choice, and control.

The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with the Direct Payment Support Service, Commissioning Service, Direct Payment Team, Social Workers, and Payroll Providers to deliver high-quality direct payments.

Key Tasks
  1. Conduct direct payment reviews to ensure compliance and effective use of funds
  2. Address urgent queries related to direct payments
  3. Foster relationships with service users, carers, families, and external organisations
  4. Offer guidance and support to teams involved in direct payment delivery
