Job Summary

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Programmes and Accountability. As a key member of the DEC team, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of programmes and ensuring accountability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Programme Management team, ensuring the effective delivery of programmes and projects.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DEC's policies and good practice guidelines.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders, including member agencies, donors, and partners, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  4. Manage and maintain DEC's Knowledge Information Management systems (KIM), ensuring that data is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
  5. Contribute to the development of the Case for Appeal, ensuring that it is well-researched, comprehensive, and meets the needs of the DEC and its stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in programme management and accountability, with a strong understanding of DEC's policies and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Commitment to the DEC's values and mission, with a strong understanding of the humanitarian sector and its challenges.
