About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in a complex care setting. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with young people displaying social, emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide specialist assessments, formulate and implement plans of therapeutic intervention, and manage the needs of our young people. You will work in a fast-paced environment, providing a trauma-informed approach to support our young people in both school and home settings.

We are looking for an individual with excellent assessment skills, strong therapeutic consultation experiences, and a passion for working with vulnerable young people. If you have a non-judgmental and empathetic attitude, a willingness to undertake training, and a full clean driving license, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessments of children and young people's needs
  • Formulate and implement plans of therapeutic intervention
  • Manage the needs of our young people in a trauma-informed approach
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive support service
  • Develop and maintain clear boundaries in respect of personal and professional responsibility
Requirements
  • Registered with the relevant professional organisation (HCPC, NMC, BACP)
  • A higher-level qualification in a relevant subject such as counselling, therapeutic support, psychotherapy, Social Worker, or Nursing
  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people in a therapeutic or counselling setting
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to plan and implement therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
  • Experience of using a consultation model/approaches
  • Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
  • Understanding of the complex and multiple needs of vulnerable young people in both school and home environments
