Job Overview

At Greater Manchester Mental Health, we are seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing mental health expertise within our integrated neighbourhood teams.

Main Duties
  • Work as a member of Integrated Neighbourhood Teams
  • Maintain current, up-to-date evidence-based knowledge of both functional and organic mental health disorders and the treatments/services available
  • Understand the needs of service users across all ages
  • Provide skilled mental health advice to service users, carers, and other professionals in the community in relation to both functional and organic mental health disorders
  • Work alongside Adult and Older People's mental health services as appropriate and work in partnership with health and social care services
  • Maintain a close working relationship with local teams, to step up or signpost as clinically indicated
  • Provide and coordinate formal and informal training to GP's, primary care, and social teams on topics relating to mental health as agreed, in order to further enhance the skills of the staff in the diagnosis and management of mental health disorders
