Electrical Test Engineer Job Description

CMR & Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer to join their team in Hook, Hampshire. As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that equipment meets high standards before it reaches the customer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning and Testing: Commission products within required dates and to the highest quality standards.
  • Initial Testing: Conduct initial testing alongside commissioning on designated products.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all build procedures are followed and report on any required changes for future builds.
  • System Assembly and QA: System assembly and QA testing for customer orders ready for shipment.
  • Record Keeping: Record and update documentation associated with QA and customer orders.
  • Repair and Calibration: Evaluate and conduct repairs on returned equipment and systems.
  • In-House Calibrations: Perform in-house calibrations and sanity checks.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with Geotechnical Systems Engineers to develop testing capabilities and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Procedure Development: Prepare, maintain, and implement internal and external technical procedures.
  • Problem Solving: Debug and problem solve issues with products both in-house and in the field.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure safe working practices in line with Health and Safety requirements.
Requirements:
  • Engineering Experience: Experience within an engineering environment, preferably in Materials, Electronics, or Mechanical fields.
  • Electrical Knowledge: Basic understanding and confidence in working with electronic/electrical components and systems.
  • Logical Thinking: Ability to think logically and fault find software, mechanical, and electrical issues.
  • Advantageous Skills: Knowledge or experience of sensors, transducers, and electro-mechanical systems would be advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Time Management: Capability to manage time independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Teamwork: Flexible approach to work and ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Continuous Learning: Desire to learn new ideas and concepts.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in learning in-house developed software packages.
  • Microsoft Office: Experience with Microsoft Office for report writing and data interpretation.
  • Housekeeping: High standard of housekeeping, cleanliness, and tidiness.
