Job Overview

Polaris Community is seeking a skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Thames Valley team. As a key member of our fostering support services, you will work closely with foster parents and young people to ensure outstanding outcomes and a safe environment for children.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves providing regular supervision to foster parents, monitoring their suitability, and supporting them in achieving high standards. You will work collaboratively with the foster family, other professionals, and the child's network to identify needs and ensure compliance with relevant documentation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support foster parents in achieving excellent results for children
  • Monitor foster parents' competence and suitability
  • Ensure foster parents understand key tasks, competencies, and standards
  • Provide regular supervision to foster parents
  • Collaborate with foster families and other professionals
  • Ensure adherence to key documentation
  • Attend meetings and provide reports for Commissioning Teams
  • Promote children's participation in agency development and local resources

Requirements

  • Social Work qualification
  • Professional registration with Social Work England
  • Proven report writing skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to travel extensively and transport children
  • Full driving license

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is £38,000 - £42,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
