About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Director to join our team at Proactive. As a key member of our Engineering division, you will be responsible for leading our maintenance efforts and ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility in Preston, Lancashire.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, with experience in a manufacturing environment. They will be able to lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

In addition to their technical expertise, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve shared goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To lead and manage the maintenance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard
  • To develop and implement maintenance plans and procedures to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
  • To work closely with the Operations team to identify and resolve any maintenance-related issues
  • To provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • To maintain accurate records and reports on maintenance activities, including KPIs and metrics
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on maintenance and asset management
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Ability to work flexibly, including shift work and overtime as required
