About the Job
We are currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team in Preston. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the manufacturing facility by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing improvements to increase productivity.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in a safe and serviceable condition
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement repairs
- Develop and improve planned maintenance schedules
- Prioritize work within the engineering department and deploy resources accordingly
- Identify training needs or 'weak spots' within the department

Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience working within a maintenance role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Time-served with a demonstrable background in mechanical maintenance
- Familiar with Siemens PLC's
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and pumps
- Strong communication skills
