About the Role:

Oxford Food Hub is seeking a highly experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth. The successful candidate will provide strategic and tactical leadership, guiding the organisation to enhance its impact, expand its operational capacity, and secure financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership and Vision:
    • Develop and deliver the strategic plan, championing a clear vision for the organisation.
    • Lead market analysis and adaptation, including food surplus sources and trends.
    • Engage employees and volunteers, fostering a high-performing team.
  • Operational Excellence and Capacity Building:
    • Drive improvements in operational efficiency, logistics, and food redistribution.
    • Expand capacity and network, ensuring effective management of a predominantly volunteer workforce.
  • Financial Sustainability and Resource Mobilisation:
    • Diversify and strengthen funding sources, ensuring financial stewardship.
    • Allocate resources effectively, managing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community groups and partners.
    • Serve as the public face of Oxford Food Hub, advocating for the organisation's mission and values.
  • Governance and Compliance:
    • Collaborate with the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective governance and decision-making.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance, managing risk and implementing risk management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within the charity, private, non-profit, or food redistribution sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex operations, including logistics and supply chain management.
  • Excellent line management skills, with experience of developing a high-performing team and building strong relationships with volunteers.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in developing diverse funding streams.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of the UK's regulatory environment for food redistribution and charitable activities.
  • A passionate advocate for environmental sustainability, food security, and community well-being.
