As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you'll be an integral part of our team, implementing and maintaining our health and safety standards to prevent accidents and promote a culture of safety.

Job Overview:

This crucial role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring our health and safety policies and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You'll play a vital part in protecting our employees and contributing to a safer work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor our health and safety policies and programs to ensure a safe workplace according to legal guidelines and best practices.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement preventative measures to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Organize and conduct training sessions on health and safety practices and regulations for staff, promoting awareness and understanding of our safety protocols.
  • Incident Investigation and Resolution: Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims efficiently.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education and training to update your knowledge of health and safety protocols and techniques, staying abreast of industry developments and best practices.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with other operational administrative tasks as needed to support the overall efficiency of our facility.

Requirements:

  • You're a motivated health and safety professional with up to one year of experience or even newly certified.
  • You hold a NEBOSH certification or are in the process of certification, demonstrating your foundational knowledge and commitment to health and safety practices.
  • You possess a keen interest in learning and growing within the field, with a proactive attitude towards enhancing workplace safety.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities are key, as you'll be collaborating across teams to implement safety protocols and manage administrative duties.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
  • Able to motivate others, ask questions, and engage effectively to promote safety awareness.

The Practicalities:

Location: Unit 2, Sence Court, Bardon Hill, Coalville, LE67 1GZ

Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Reporting to: Operations Manager/Health & Safety Lead

Estimated Salary: £31,000 per annum
