Job Description

Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Data Delivery Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Geospatial Services for Defence Hub, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and disseminating geospatial web services, content, and applications to meet the needs of the Ministry of Defence.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and develop standards-compliant geospatial web-based content, including geospatial web services, tools, widgets, applications, and interactive outputs.
  • Work closely with the data sourcing team to acquire and publish geospatial web services.
  • Ensure all core geospatial web services are reviewed with the relevant levels of assurance and made available at all classifications.
  • Visualize geospatial datasets to aid user understanding and ensure the right information is available to those who need it.
  • Work closely with customers and partners to design, develop, and implement advanced web applications to meet their needs and fill capability gaps.
  • Develop relevant SOPs and training material relevant to all such solutions and, where necessary, assist in the design or delivery of this training as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide professional advice on the use of the ESRI Enterprise Portal, geospatial web applications, and geospatial web services.
  • Undertake geospatial data management.
  • Direct line management responsibilities for 3 staff members.

Person Specification

  • Proficiency using ESRI ArcGIS software.
  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills (experience using MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Word, etc).
  • Experience working with ArcGIS Online Portal.
  • Experience with geospatial data management.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the GEOINT and/or wider intelligence communities.

Desirable Criteria

  • Line management experience.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Server Manager.
  • Understanding of data sources, data organization, and storage.
  • Ability to interpret requirements and present data in a clear and compelling way, using graphical representations and data visualizations.
