Junior Neurosurgery Fellow

At 279 University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Junior Clinical Fellow to join our dynamic team in the South East Neurosurgery/Spinal surgery unit. As a Junior Clinical Fellow, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our team.
Our Team
Our team consists of 9 Neurosurgical and 4 spinal consultants, with a strong focus on orthopaedic or neurosurgical training. We have a diverse team of 11 registrars, 7 SHO level doctors, 1-2 Foundation year doctor(s), and 2 Advance Clinical Practitioners (ACP). Our department is based in the new Louisa Martindale Building, providing state-of-the-art facilities, including 3 dedicated neuro/spinal theatres with intra-operative MRI facilities, a brand new Neurointerventional angiography suite, O-arm, 3 Neuro-navigation systems, CT/MRI facilities near neuro-theatres, and multiple MDT rooms.
Your Role
As a Junior Clinical Fellow, you will cover both elective and emergency adult neurosurgery and spinal conditions, working on wards, theatres, ICU/HDU, and emergency department. You will be part of a highly motivated nursing, therapy, and pharmacy team, with a SHO on-call rota of 1:7. This is an excellent opportunity for junior doctors who aspire to become neurosurgeons, interventional neuro-radiologists, neurologists, neuro-oncologists, or neuropathologists.
