Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Personal Support Assistant to provide comprehensive care and companionship to an individual in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with daily tasks, promoting independence, and enhancing the overall quality of life for our client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Care and Assistance: Provide support with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as assistance with mobility and transfers.
  • Food Preparation and Household Chores: Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Social Activities and Companionship: Engage in social activities with the individual, such as walks, shopping, and visits to museums or art galleries, promoting social interaction and enjoyment.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and adapt to changing needs, prioritizing the client's comfort and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications and Experience: Possess relevant qualifications and experience in care work, with a strong focus on providing high-quality care and support.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Develop effective relationships with the individual, family members, and other healthcare professionals, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, with a minimum of 7-14 hours per week.

Working Arrangements:

  • Salary: £12 per hour on weekdays, with opportunities for extra hours and shift payments.
  • Shifts: Monday to Sunday, with 1-2 days per week, 4-7 hours each, plus additional support for community access or events (2 hours).
