Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Duty Practitioner to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking an individual with a commitment to teamwork, a sense of accountability, and the ability to work under pressure.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the response to medical and psychiatric emergencies on the hospital site.
  • Deploy staff in urgent/emergency situations to achieve safe staffing levels within available resources.
  • Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health Act 2007 and other statutory regulations are observed and implemented.
  • Ensure that all staff comply with Trust policies and implement Risk Management and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Be conversant with Major Incident and Fire Evacuation Procedures.

Requirements
  • Relevant professional mental health qualification to degree or diploma level.
  • Understanding of individuals with complex needs.
  • Ability to manage/supervise other staff.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date legislation, national and local policies relating to the Section 136 Police holding powers.
