Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HV Authorised Person to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in electrical operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and governance for HV and LV operations on our PAM account and other Corporate Sector accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible to the Controlling Manager for the compliance with, and the practical application of, safety rules and procedures.
  • Operate, isolate, discharge, and prove dead systems and equipment within specified limits.
  • Prepare, issue, and cancel safety documentation in accordance with safety rules.
  • Ensure that all systems and installations are operated and maintained in a safe condition at all times.
  • Identify and report any potentially dangerous situations or occurrences to the Controlling Manager.
  • Carry out regular inspections and maintain Electrical Distribution Operating Records (EDOR).
  • Monitor and report on equipment examinations and remedial work requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Co-ordinator to ensure compliance with safety procedures and safety rules.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and expertise in electrical operations.
Requirements:
  • A suitably qualified and trained employee with at least 5 years of electrical experience.
  • A valid HV AP Certification via an approved training provider.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering.
  • Experience of working within a critical infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own time effectively.
  • Full Clean Driving License.
  • Conversant with standard IT systems and packages.
