Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our High Voltage (HV) Underground Cables team in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of our output in the production and control of drawings and technical documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce designs, calculations, reports, and drawings associated with new or modified EHV projects from 11kV to 400kV, covering EHV cabling and primary design.
  • Develop bonding/line diagrams, cable rating calculations, induced voltage calculations, short circuit force calculations, thermo-mechanical thrust calculations, pulling tension calculations, and material specification lists.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects from feasibility studies to commissioning and installation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including TP137 authorisation by National Grid.

Requirements

  • BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Working towards CEng status, although not essential.
  • Experience in power engineering, with good communication skills.
