Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Support Professional to join our team at a Specialist School for pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs (Social, Emotional, Mental Health). The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide personalized support to students, promoting their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in the classroom, providing individualized support to students with varying learning needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement, motivation, and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and deliver lessons, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to manage their emotions and develop coping strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting respect, empathy, and understanding among students and staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, or a willingness to learn and develop your skills in this area.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to learn and grow with our team.
