Job Title: Children's Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Children's Support Worker. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when necessary.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.
  • Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
  • Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people.
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • You must be able to commute to Ebbw Vale.
