Job Overview: Student Development Assistant

Location: Plymouth, Devon

Job Type: Full-time (Monday - Friday)

Salary: £9,500 - £10,650 per month (£90-£105 per day)

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Student Development Assistant to join our team at Vision for Education in Plymouth. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support a student's educational and social development, making a significant impact on their life.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the student's academic progress by providing tailored assistance and guidance.
  2. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes engagement and motivation.
  3. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure seamless integration of individual learning plans.
  4. Monitor and evaluate the student's progress regularly, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.
  5. Communicate effectively with the student's family and other stakeholders to maintain open channels of communication.
  6. Stay up-to-date with best practices in special educational needs and disability (SEND) to ensure the highest quality of care and support.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required as driving the student to various locations will be part of the role.
  • Must be available to work from 08:30 to 15:30, Monday through Friday.
  • Previous experience with SEND students or children is desirable but not essential.
  • A strong passion for supporting young people with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, capable of adapting to changing circumstances.
