We are seeking a dedicated Support Specialist to join our team at Randstad Education in Plymouth.

About the Role

As a Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support and guidance to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a vibrant and inclusive school. Your primary focus will be on assisting students in their learning and development by collaborating closely with the class instructor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with SEN in their learning and development by collaborating closely with the class instructor
  • Support students one-on-one or in small groups, tailoring instruction and resources to each student's unique requirements
  • Encourage a welcoming and inclusive learning environment to ensure all students experience support and value
  • Work together to establish an extensive support system with other experts, including educational psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists

You will have the opportunity to work with students who have diverse needs, and your patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills will be essential in creating a supportive environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Two proven professional references
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and a patient, empathetic approach
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students, and families

Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 per annum
