Job Summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to lead our Children's Eating Disorder Service (CEDS). This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to contribute to clinical and system change in the South West.

About the Role

As a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead, you will provide clinical leadership to other psychologists and the wider multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for providing highly specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and treatments for children and young people with complex eating disorders or eating-related difficulties.

You will also be involved in the development and delivery of CEDS teaching programmes, as well as providing expertise, advice, and support to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the treatment team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessments and formulations for children and young people with complex eating disorders or eating-related difficulties.
  • Develop and deliver CEDS teaching programmes.
  • Provide expertise, advice, and support to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the treatment team.
  • Liaise with other professionals and contribute to multi-disciplinary case discussions/planning meetings.
  • Be responsible for own work and interventions with highly complex presentations as an autonomous practitioner.
Person Specification

Essential

  • Doctoral Clinical Psychology qualification or equivalent as accredited by the British Psychology Society (BPS).
  • Eligible for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status.
  • Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Desirable

  • Relevant specialist CPD qualification (Diploma/Masters etc.).
  • Management training/qualification.
  • Training in neuropsychological and developmental assessment.
  • Relevant post-qualification training in work with eating disorders.
  • Relevant post-qualification training/experience in working with young people.
