About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team at OX Delivers, a social impact automotive start-up. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in securing the parts needed to meet our ambitious targets for truck production.

Our organisation is structured into vertically-stacked Truck teams responsible for everything from design to delivery of parts. You will work closely with our engineers to identify optimal solutions based on insights from our prototype trucks.

Currently, we use a mix of donor parts from other manufacturers, off-the-shelf parts, and custom-made components for the OX trucks. Your primary focus will be reducing the cost of donor parts by finding new suppliers.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and resolving any queries regarding price, quality, delivery, or invoicing.

Analysis will also be a key part of your role, including reviewing BOM costs, evaluating supplier performance, and providing reports to the wider business.

Requirements
  • Experience working as a Buyer, ideally with purchasing for new products, such as R&D projects or within a smaller business.
  • Deep understanding of procurement processes, including change control, stock rotation, material planning, and supplier quality protocols.
  • Analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to provide insights that contribute to business success.
  • Research and evaluation skills, with the ability to identify and engage new suppliers.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to stay on track when deadlines are looming.
