About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team at OX Delivers, a social impact automotive start-up. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in securing the parts needed to meet our ambitious targets for truck production next year and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Our organisation is structured into vertically-stacked Truck teams responsible for everything from design to the delivery of parts. You will work closely with our engineers to identify optimal solutions based on insights from our prototypes. Your primary focus will be reducing the cost of donor parts by finding new suppliers.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and resolving any queries regarding price, quality, delivery, or invoicing. Analysis will also be a key part of your role, including reviewing BOM costs, evaluating supplier performance, and providing reports to the wider business.

Requirements

You must have experience working as a Buyer. Ideally, this includes purchasing for new products, such as R&D projects or within a smaller business. You should have a deep understanding of procurement processes, including change control, stock rotation, material planning, and supplier quality protocols.

Analysis will be a significant part of your role. We want to hear about the analysis and reporting you have completed in past roles and how it contributed to business success. We will also want to understand how you research and evaluate new suppliers and what you consider most important when engaging a new supplier.
