Business Development Manager

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive growth and expansion in the UK & Scotland, specifically within the Cardiometabolic & Informatics business unit.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and developing regional key corporate and NHS Cardiometabolic accounts
- Generating new business through local market access initiatives in the public and private sectors
- Working closely with the UK Market Access manager to develop new patient pathways and funding sources
- Identifying new revenue channels in the NHS and private sectors
- Ensuring commercial excellence and strong account management to retain existing high-value accounts
This is a field-based role, with 50-60% travel anticipated across the UK. The territory will cover East Anglia, East Midlands, North West, North East, and Scotland. Ideal candidates should be based in Central (East) UK.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or higher in Business, Biological Science, or a related field
- Experience in POC or medical devices, preferably diagnostics
- Business-to-business sales experience and knowledge of variable buying chains in large organisations
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluency in building compelling business cases, including return on investment analysis and tender writing
- Understanding of the UK healthcare system, relevant funding routes, and patient pathways
