Job Title: Registered General Nurse Nights

We are seeking an experienced Registered General Nurse to join our team in a Band 6 position on Patience Ward. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and skills in Nephrology and be able to provide high-quality patient care.

Job Summary

The Registered General Nurse will be responsible for managing the department and nursing staff, ensuring patients receive high-quality clinical care and a good patient experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to take on new challenges and develop management and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deputise the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager and build successful links between key professionals to support and promote effective multi-disciplinary team working.
  2. Manage the department and nursing staff, ensuring patients receive high-quality clinical care and a good patient experience.
  3. Be wholly accountable for his/her practice in line with the NMC code of professional conduct and take every reasonable opportunity to sustain and improve his/her knowledge and professional competence.
  4. Communicate effectively and efficiently and liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that patients receive seamless care within the trust.
Person Specification
  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in area supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training, and CPD.
  • Experience of coordinating a shift.
  • Supervision of junior staff.
  • An understanding of audit and research-based nursing practice.
Professional/Statutory Registration
  • RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
