About the Role:

Wabtec Corporation is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for freight and transit rail. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading, managing, coordinating, and controlling all engineering-related activities in the project to deliver on requirements, budget, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all technical requirements and demands by the Customer as per contract are covered by the defined engineering scope.
  • Generate the engineering input to the detailed project schedule.
  • Cooperate with other functions inside and outside the Project Team in cross-functional activities regarding cost reduction, risk, and opportunity analysis.
  • Monitor and compile scope change and agree on the engineering budget with the Project Manager.
  • Approve all concepts and specifications for use in the projects such as calculations, safety analysis, and system-type test reports.
  • Analyse and report all changes to the engineering project budget, schedule, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction with reliable product performance, quick response to customer feedback including potential complaints and provide appropriate solutions within the time limits.
  • Support and address the interface problems or technical clarifications (e.g., with suppliers).
  • Manage according to the project plan, the project product development plan with a focus on implementation, integration, and verification.
  • Manage the customer gate reviews, ensuring proper preparation for the engineering scope and positive achievement of the milestone.
  • Manage with the technical project team the related system validation process, ensuring the respect and management of all homologation and certification requirements.
  • Liaising with customers to solve nonconformances in the interest of customer satisfaction, long-term reliability, and safety.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Ideally, you have demonstrable design and project experience.
  • Ability to coordinate and ensure collaboration of multi-site/multi-function teams.
  • Proven ability to develop, lead, and implement projects with high business impact.
  • Excellent communication skills and matrix leadership experience.
  • Financial and data analysis skills.
