The Development Co-ordinator role plays a vital part in supporting the development, promotion, and delivery of the Careers and Employability Services (CES) at The Open University UK. This role contributes to student and alumni service promotion and communication, manages social media, ensures accessibility of resources, and supports the maintenance of the CES online self-help offer, including external platforms.
This is a part-time position of 18.5 hours per week, with a preferred work pattern of Monday (7.5 hours), Tuesday (3.5 hours), and Wednesday (7.5 hours). The role is part of the university-wide Careers and Employability Services, which helps thousands of people achieve their life and career ambitions.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and adapt to changing priorities. They will also be responsible for creating engaging content for articles, social media, mailouts, and other communications, as well as analysing data and presenting reports.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the promotion and engagement of students and alumni with CES through the co-production of a monthly newsletter, creating blog articles, writing, scheduling, responding to social media accounts, and monitoring impact.
- Monitoring, updating, and supporting the operation of online activities such as forums and webinars.
- Supporting the development, maintenance, and monitoring of online career resources, including careers and employability-related online articles, tools, and platforms.
- Liaising with other specialist university teams to arrange and co-ordinate marketing and communications.
- Supporting the development and co-ordination of processes and standards across CES related to delivery and quality assurance.
- Assisting in monitoring, collating, and data related to feedback, Student Voice, service delivery, and development projects.
- Contributing to equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring accessibility of resources and services through format design and content checking.
- Supporting the production and editing of a wide range of resources, including graphics, information sheets, PowerPoint presentations, and video and audio material.
- Providing ad-hoc administrative support to development projects, trials, and delivery of services.
