Job Description

At NEC Software Solutions, we're seeking a skilled Technical Architect to join our team. As a Technical Architect, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing technical architecture solutions for our corporate and customer solutions.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary teams, you'll collaborate with internal stakeholders to design solutions to complex problems, maintain and evolve existing solutions, and provide technical guidance and consultancy. You'll work closely with our support teams to provide high-level assistance for incidents and changes.

We're looking for a candidate with proven experience producing technical architecture designs within small and medium-sized enterprise environments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing technical architecture designs meeting business requirements within our overarching architecture framework.
  • Participating in the technical architecture design peer review process to ensure high-quality designs.
  • Presenting technical architecture designs to our technical assurance board and supporting the technical assurance process.
  • Supporting the implementation of technical architecture designs, providing knowledge transfer to support teams, and hands-on support where necessary.
  • Undertaking evaluation of architecture and design options, making recommendations to stakeholders to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met.
  • Supporting our technology roadmap process, undertaking and presenting investigations related to new and existing technologies.
  • Continuously learning to maintain knowledge of key technologies, emerging trends, and industry standards to support business innovation through intelligent use of IT.

This is a home-based role with occasional requirements to attend company offices or customer sites as needed.

Requirements

We're looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven experience producing technical architecture designs within a small to medium-sized enterprise environment.
  • Proven understanding of non-functional requirements and their impact on technical architecture design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of end-user, compute, networking, storage technologies, including desktop and server virtualization technologies, network switches, and firewalls.
  • Strong awareness of security to ensure technical designs provide sufficient protection for workloads.

Experience with designing and implementing solutions deployed to multi-tenanted community cloud platforms, public cloud platforms, and NEC technologies is highly desirable.
