About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant learning community in Kirkby. As a key member of our primary school team, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and promoting the overall well-being of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with small groups or individual students to provide targeted interventions and support, helping them to reach their full potential.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and materials, maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support children with additional needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN), and promote a positive and respectful classroom culture.
  • Supervise students during break times and other school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in Key Stage 2 (KS2), is preferred.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards helping children learn and grow, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience or understanding of working with SEN students is beneficial.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
