London, Greater London, United Kingdom Shared Services Partnership Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Public Health Funerals Officer to join our Mortality Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of care and support during a difficult time.

Your primary duties will include taking responsibility for our Client Financial Affairs function, including all aspects of property protection and the arrangement of public funerals. This will involve meeting with service users, the relatives of deceased people, service providers and solicitors to ensure that the funeral wishes of our clients are implemented and their estates are administered effectively.

You will also be responsible for carrying out searches of deceased clients' homes to determine the existence of a will, the financial position and next of kin, and deciding on the most appropriate funeral. This will depend on legal, religious and cultural requirements, the financial and contractual constraints, and the source for funding.

We are looking for someone with well-developed experience of operational delivery and successful resources management, and the ability to ensure that statutory requirements and community needs are met while mitigating risk and delivering excellent customer service.

As a Public Health Funerals Officer, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients and their families, and to be part of a team that is dedicated to providing high-quality services to the community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work unsupervised, and a high level of emotional intelligence. You will also need to be able to manage the storage, recording, retrieval and disposal of our clients' property, and to produce clear and concise reports and correspondence to a variety of audiences.

We are committed to promoting a supportive, collaborative and respectful workplace, and we are looking for someone who shares our values and is dedicated to delivering excellent customer service.

What We Offer

We offer a range of benefits, including a competitive salary, a comprehensive training program, and opportunities for career development and progression. We are also committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance, and we offer a range of flexible working arrangements to support this.

We are an inclusive employer, and we welcome applications from people from all backgrounds. We are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and we are proud to be a Disability Confident Employer.

We are a forward-thinking Council, and we appreciate that people work in different ways. We offer a range of flexible working patterns, including Agile working, and we are committed to supporting our staff to achieve a healthy work-life balance.
