Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support Assistant to work closely with a child with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in a mainstream school setting. The ideal candidate will have a specialism and experience in working alongside children with challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to the child with ADHD, helping to build self-confidence and improve behaviour
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the child's learning and socialisation
  • Work closely with the child's teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting the child's needs
  • Contribute to the development of a positive learning environment and promote a culture of inclusion and respect

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Good level of English and Maths (GCSE pass mark or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably on a 1:1 basis
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and ability to work with children with challenging behaviour
