Power Generation Specialist

Our SSE Renewables division operates the largest fleet of hydro-electric power assets across Scotland, with 1,459MW of installed capacity. As a Hydro Control Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the safe and efficient operation of our Hydro Generation fleet from our 24/7 Operations Centre in Perth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating support staff mobilization in response to plant status changes, ensuring field team safety.
- Managing control room aspects of planned outages.
- Ensuring compliance with flood control procedures and Controlled Activities Regulations (CAR).
- Monitoring real-time data for alarm events, retaining asset integrity.
Requirements:
- HNC qualification in engineering, with relevant experience.
- Experience in generating plant and/or HV systems authorization under Safety Rules.
- Flexible approach, prepared to work shifts meeting 24/7 operational requirements.
- Knowledge of SSE Hydro schemes and Hydro Power Station plant characteristics.
