Job Summary

Ace Centre is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to provide operational leadership for our clinical services in the North and support our Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure the continual improvement of our portfolio of services that focus on supporting the evolving needs of people with complex communication difficulties.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide operational leadership for Ace Centre's clinical services in the North and support the SMT to develop services and enhance systems at a regional level.
  • Co-ordinate the planning and delivery of our services in the North and contribute to the recruitment, induction, and ongoing training and support of service delivery staff.
  • Support the SMT to develop working relationships with external partners and manage overall service capacity and demand.
  • Act as a point of liaison for sensitive and confidential information relating to staff in the North and provide pastoral care to staff who may be experiencing personal difficulties.
  • Support clinical staff in the North to maintain personal development records and adhere to GDPR and Caldicott recommendations.
  • Manage complaints relating to service delivery in the North and act as Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

Ace Centre is a registered charity providing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) services for people with complex needs. We have a multi-disciplinary team of specialist teachers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, technical and administrative staff who are focused on supporting the evolving needs of people with complex communication difficulties.

Person Specification
  • Experience of providing education and training on AAC/AT solutions, principles, and practice.
  • Experience of working with a range of AAC/AT solutions for clients with differing needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the AAC/AT assessment process and ability to contribute to this as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of Ace Centre services to support and enable discussions with SMT colleagues to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage complex and challenging situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Ability to manage own workload and maintain accurate records/documentation.
  • Evidence of on-going personal development CPD.
