Job Title: Work Preparator

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Work Preparator to join our team at a Spirit site in Barrow-in-Furness. This is a staff role, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To increase efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance function.
  • Develop anomaly and project job plans and prepare them for scheduling and execution, including predictive, corrective, and planned fabric maintenance jobs, and minor modification construction jobs.
  • Develop and maintain long- and short-term schedules in conjunction with the site team, including scheduling of Shutdown work.
  • To ensure the performance and availability of equipment and systems within all disciplines meet the standard required to achieve safety, production, and environmental targets.
  • Operate and maintain the CMMS and its interfaces with cost, Materials, and planning groups in support of the CSP function.
Requirements:
  • Recognised technical Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline or equivalent training scheme.
  • HNC in a relevant discipline Engineering (post 2009 apprenticeships).
  • Proven on or offshore construction experience.
  • NVQ/SVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline (desirable).
  • Sap knowledge - preferred but training can be provided.
  • Permit writing experience.

  • Thorough and reliable achiever. Must be able to work flexibly as part of a team with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with little supervision.

  • Reliable and responsible and shows attention to detail.
  • Willing to work onshore rota and shift system.
  • Must comply with the requirements of the Company's and/or the Client's Safety Management System (SMS).
Competencies:
  • Able to carry out all activities safely and efficiently to agreed work plans, safety management system requirements, and best working practices as required by supervisor.
  • Able to complete work history/reports to the required standard as outlined by supervisor.
  • Ability to interpret/mark up technical drawings to as-built status.
  • Ability to understand/project procedures and drawings, in particular, extensive understanding of P&IDs/SLDs/Instrument Loop, LV Wiring Diagrams as applicable to their discipline.
  • Ability to carry out work-site inspections.
  • Technically competent in a relevant main discipline (Piping or Structural).
  • Sound understanding of asset management and services supply.
  • Understanding of current legislation as applied offshore (hazardous areas, PUWER, LOLER, MHSWR, EAWA, etc).
