Job Opportunity

Hobson Prior is seeking a Quality Control Scientist II to join their team in Abingdon. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing quality records within the Quality Control Group and ensuring readiness for inspections.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology or a related science, with experience in a GLP/GMP environment. They will be computer literate, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing all quality records in Quality Control and ensuring their timely completion.
  • Participating in regulatory inspections and submissions.
  • Creating protocols and reports for assay transfers/validation.
  • Reviewing and completing documentation following Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures, forms, Deviations, Change controls CAPA, Certificate of Analysis reports.
  • Leading or assisting with investigations as needed.
  • Introducing QC laboratory equipment and participating in validation activities.
  • Communicating QC requirements within and across other functional groups.
  • Performing QC testing following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of QC laboratory and equipment.
  • Managing receipt and storage of QC samples, reagents and maintaining retain inventory.
  • Coordinating shipping of samples to Milton Park and contract testing laboratories.
  • Training others within the department for methods and processes according to GMP standards.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert/trainer for method or process and leading troubleshooting or method optimization as required.
