Quality Control Scientist II Job Description

Hobson Prior is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Scientist II to join our team in Abingdon. As a key member of our Quality Control Group, you will be responsible for managing quality records and ensuring readiness for inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality records in Quality Control, ensuring timely completion and compliance with procedures.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections and submissions, providing expert knowledge and guidance.
  • Develop and implement protocols and reports for assay transfers/validation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review and complete documentation following Good Manufacturing Practices, maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely closure of records and compliance with procedures.
  • Lead or assist with investigations as needed, providing expert analysis and recommendations.
  • Introduce QC laboratory equipment and participate in validation activities, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Communicate QC requirements within and across functional groups, fostering collaboration and understanding.
  • Perform QC testing following Standard Operating Procedures, maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Assist with the maintenance of QC laboratory and equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Manage receipt and storage of QC samples, reagents, and maintain retain inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate shipping of samples to Milton Park and contract testing laboratories, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
  • Train others within the department for methods and processes according to GMP standards, promoting knowledge sharing and expertise.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology or related science.
  • Experience in a GLP/GMP environment, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Word and Excel, with ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work well with others.
  • Good organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
