Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Control Specialist to join our team at South and Vale District Council. As a Senior Building Control Officer, you will be responsible for administering building regulations, the Building Act, and other associated legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validating, examining, and determining applications submitted under building regulations and associated legislation.
  • Recording detailed and accurate records within our computerized systems.
  • Instigating enforcement procedures, preparing reports, and statements to our solicitor and appearing in court as a prosecution witness as required.
  • Carrying out inspections of dangerous structures, taking appropriate action.
  • Exercising and promoting a high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum Class 2A-2F registration with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience working in building control, either within Local Government or the private sector.
