Endocrinology and Diabetes Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Endocrinologist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. This is a new post being created to expand our diabetes and endocrine team, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Consultant colleague to work with us at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.

Main Responsibilities
  • General and specialist diabetes and endocrine clinics tailored according to interests and expertise.
  • Collaborating with our multidisciplinary diabetes and endocrine teams.
  • Participating in 1:4 rotational shared care of a diabetes/general medical ward.
  • Speciality consults and supervision of Speciality Registrars.
  • 1:9 general medicine weekend, weekday and Bank holiday cover.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff, contributing to their development and training.
  • Contributing to audit, clinical governance and service development.
  • Support participation in research and clinical trials.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, case presentations, and teaching sessions for medical students and doctors in training.
Clinical Skills & Experience
  • Understanding of clinical risk management.
Organisation & Planning
  • Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams.
Research & Academic
  • Evidence of participation in audit.
Career progression & Personal Attributes
  • Appropriate progression of career to date.
